Our Philosophy as a Training Company

Whether you’re a trainee or a member of executive management, we communicate with each other as equals and value each other’s input regardless of our current professional positions.

This allows our trainees to develop freely, communicate openly, and freely share their ideas.

Trainees work on real-world projects, benefit from experienced mentors, and gain insights into various aspects of online marketing—from SEO and social media to email marketing and website projects.

Why It's Important to Us to Be a Training Company

Offering an apprenticeship is an investment in the future of our society and, of course, in the apprentices themselves. The shortage of skilled workers is a reality, and Switzerland relies on well-trained, dedicated individuals. .

Through our training programs, we enable young talents to discover and realize their potential. This is not only an investment in their individual futures, but also in the future of the digital industry and society as a whole.

Benefits of an apprenticeship at onlineKarma

An apprenticeship at onlineKarma is tailored to address each learner’s individual strengths and needs.

With us, apprentices receive

  • Practical learning experiences: Direct involvement in projects, working independently, and taking on responsibility.

  • Diverse career development opportunities: Insights into various areas of marketing.

  • Individualized Support: Personalized assistance and increased focus on the areas that best match a student’s strengths.

  • Up-to-date and forward-looking course content: Focus on digital trends and innovations.

Learning at onlineKarma is a really cool experience. Here, I’m not only learning a lot about marketing, but also a lot of things I need in my day-to-day work. Everyone is super supportive, and it’s really fun to be part of this team!

Daily Life as a Trainee at onlineKarma

The Marketing & Communications Business Administrator (KV) apprenticeship program is based on three pillars to ensure the best possible coverage of all areas of knowledge.

In addition to on-the-job training at the company’s Basel location, apprentices attend the KV Basel vocational school two days a week and participate in the inter-company courses (üK) for the marketing and communications sector in Zurich approximately four times a year.

Assessments of learning progress and development are thus composed of these three areas:

  • School exams and the qualification procedures (QV) determine students’ grades.

  • Independent projects and presentations, known as demonstrations of competence (üKKn), are conducted by the industry.

  • Work and learning situations (ALS) or practical assignments (since BiVo 2023) are conducted and evaluated by onlineKarma.

The collaboration among all three pillars ensures that students are ideally prepared for their professional careers in three years and go on to enrich the industry as experts in online marketing.

In the background, the Apprenticeship Oversight Authority of the Canton of Basel-Stadt and the Swiss Commercial Association also ensure that training companies adhere to standards and provide support through continuing education programs and counseling.
